About

The Lenorian calendar begins on the spring equinox of 1948 (Gregorian; 1948-03-20), the year the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted. The calendar aims to promote Human Rights and serves as a constant reminder of their ongoing violations by states and corporations. Named after Eleanor Roosevelt in honor of her tireless advocacy for Human Rights, the Lenorian calendar utilizes the Human Rights logo as its visual identity.

Composition

The Lenorian calendar has 12 months, alternating between 30 and 31 days, starting with a 30-day month, and ending with either a 30-day month on common years or a 31-day month on leap years.

There are 8 days in a week, making it easier to divide it in two.

Leap years rule

Lenorian years typically have 365 days, but leap years have 366 days, with the extra day added to the end of the last month.

Year 0 and years divisible by 4 are leap years, except if they're also divisible by 100, then they're common years, except if when divided by 900 the remainder is 200 or 600 (Milutin Milanković's rule).
